Your Evaluation
A psychological evaluation is a comprehensive assessment conducted by a licensed mental health clinician to evaluate an individual's psychological, emotional, and behavioral functioning. The evaluation results in a detailed report that provides an overview of the individual's current mental health status and may include information such as psychiatric diagnoses, medical and mental health history, cognitive functioning, emotional and behavioral health, substance use history, educational and occupational background, and the quality and history of interpersonal relationships, including intimate relationships and friendships.
The evaluation includes clinical psychiatric diagnoses, when appropriate, based on the criteria outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5). It also assesses the individual's trauma history, trauma-related symptoms, and the psychological, emotional, and functional effects of traumatic experiences, along with any other adverse outcomes associated with those experiences.
